A couple, who wish to remain anonymous, recently visited the Sedona area from New Jersey to find a home to retire in. After an extensive search, the couple settled on a 2700 square foot home with great southern views in Cornville, Arizona. The final purchase price was good enough to allow the couple to remake the home to their specific liking, a wise long term investment for retirement. With business to wrap up and a home to pack in New Jersey, the couple hired a team to oversee the remodel in their absence.portland hits top list for good remodeling potential in 2011!

If you have ever wondered how to add pizzazz to your whole house, kitchen, or bathroom remodel, be sure to attend one of Paolo’s community outreach presentations. Paolo Design Group was invited by the beautiful Pratt & Larson tile showroom on Saturday morning, April 9, 2011 to explore the magic behind the integration of architecture and interior design. During the presentations, one can learn tips and tricks on how to transform your home from ordinary to extraordinary. A “ragged tile edge” on the kitchen back splash, for example, creates an element of surprise for guests the next time you entertain. A special thanks goes to the Pratt & Larson staff for helping to make the event a success. Check out our Tours/Events Calendar for a presentation in your neighborhood!

If you are considering a remodel, be sure to stop by our Kitchen Remodel in the King’s Heights neighborhood on the 2011 Tour of Remodeled Homes. Our project is House #10. The creative team comprised of Paolo Design Group and Olsen Homes & Renovation solves many problems for this 1971 contemporary home with a single maneuver–simply removing an outdated china hutch. Now, with no barrier in sight, the views of the Willamette River open up. A kitchen island is relocated and enlarged to improve functionality for cooking and entertaining. Anigre cabinetry flanks the walls to maximize beauty and storage options. New wall ovens make baking a snap. The powder bath goes through a mini-remodel of its own. Finally, this home in King’s Heights is fit for a King…or Queen!
