remodeling projects “spring” into action!

There is growing evidence that the tides are turning in terms of remodeling, real estate, and the overall economy that may impact consumer driven decisions whether or not to build or remodel in the near future.  A recent report from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), summarizes the “good news” and the “not-so-good news” as well as a forecast for the next few years.  Another source is blog posts from local real estate agents such as Peggy Hoag about improvements in the housing industry.  All-in-all, we appear to be heading in the positive direction.

The Dec/Jan issue of Green Builder Magazine is scheduled to feature Paolo’s design for Oregon’s first certified LEED Platinum Gut-rehab.  The project entails a green whole house remodel of a two story home in a Southwest Portland neighborhood transforming a 3 bedroom, 2 bath Mid-century home into a 5 bedroom, 3 bath New-century sustainable dwelling within the existing footprint.  Sustainable landscaping is also part of the transformation.  Be sure to pick up your copy of the magazine to learn more about this exciting project!

paolo designs “ultimate kitchen feature” for fall home improvement show!

Sneak Peak!  Designer Paolo has been asked for the THIRD year in a row to design a feature for the Fall Home Improvement Show that is held in October facilitated by the Oregon Remodelers Association (ORA).  This year’s design will focus on what many call the “hub” of the home, the kitchen!  Paolo uses his design expertise and partners with Olson & Jones Construction to create a feature called, “The Ultimate Kitchen” that includes the needs of homeowners ranging from lifestyle to functional.  Top names in the industry such as Ferguson, Kohler, Jennair, and more, make the feature an ultimate experience.  The name of the feature says it all…
