The Dec/Jan issue of Green Builder Magazine is scheduled to feature Paolo’s design for Oregon’s first certified LEED Platinum Gut-rehab. The project entails a green whole house remodel of a two story home in a Southwest Portland neighborhood transforming a 3 bedroom, 2 bath Mid-century home into a 5 bedroom, 3 bath New-century sustainable dwelling within the existing footprint. After several years of leadership in sustainable design, Northwest home design firm Paolo Design Group has been asked by the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Portland (HBA) to present “Green, Greener, Greenest” on Thursday, September 9, 2010. The presentation explored the green building strategies that make good economic and environmental sense while adding beauty, function, and durability to your home. Additional topics such as the basics of the LEED certification program were also explored. Several of Paolo’s custom home, remodel, and commercial designs were used during the presentation as examples to demonstrate the different levels of green ranging from Earth Advantage to LEED for Homes Platinum.
